ACTUAL SEGMENTATION SAMPLE

From voxel labels to anatomical structure

Sample 1 contains five anatomical groups: skull, mandible, spine, distal forelimb and other bone structures. Colors distinguish the groups; boundaries must be reviewed against the source CT slices.

Sample materials
2 CT volumes · 8 group masks · 8 surface mesh files
File formats
NRRD source volumes / NIfTI masks / STL surface meshes
Checks completed
Mask dimensions, image–mask alignment and STL file structure
Project acceptance
Task-specific label granularity and expert review

Visualizations are from existing LumeSage animal imaging sample materials. The number of group files is not the number of individually labeled bones. Geometry and file checks do not replace veterinary review. Access to source files depends on the intended use and the applicable permissions.

THE ANNOTATION PLATFORM

Bring your annotation team into one workflow.

Connect images, labels, review and export. A demo focuses on how your team takes source data through to a usable deliverable.

PLATFORM WORKFLOWWorkflow illustration
  1. 01
    Import data and assign tasks

Link animals, imaging studies and tasks; check image quality and formats.

  2. 02
Contour slices and inspect in 3D

Edit labels with region-of-interest (ROI) and mask tools, using the source images as a reference.

  3. 03
    Submit for review and revision

Distinguish draft, pending-review and approved versions, with the reasons for changes recorded.

  4. 04
Export and verify in the target software

Check labels, orientation, dimensions and correspondence between exported files.

Evaluate the tools with your data

Explore data management, segmentation editing, multiplanar reconstruction (MPR), 3D viewing and export using our existing imaging tools. Suitability for animal projects is confirmed with representative data.

Define who annotates, reviews and approves

Agree on annotation guidelines, review permissions and version control for each team role, so that draft labels are clearly distinguished from approved deliverables.

Define the deployment and implementation scope

On-premises deployment, storage, user numbers and integration requirements are confirmed after the demo. AI-assisted functions require validation for the relevant animal species and task.

EXPERTISE THAT REACHES DELIVERY

Expert review turns collaboration into accountable results.

Combine canine and feline CT segmentation, veterinary review and data engineering. Translate professional judgment into annotation guidelines, review records and versioned deliverables.

01 / ANNOTATION TEAM

From target structures to detailed labels

Define anatomical groups, delineate contours and refine masks for the task. Agree on detailed requirements—such as individual bone IDs, laterality or fragment preservation—through pilot annotation.

02 / VETERINARY REVIEW TEAM

Review against the source images

Inspect target structures and boundaries on CT slices, resolve discrepancies and flag uncertainty. Confirm the relevant expertise, review responsibilities and acceptance process before work begins.

03 / DATA ENGINEERING & DELIVERY

Make the output usable in your research workflow

Check spatial alignment, file naming, the label dictionary and versions. Package source images, annotations and quality notes for the intended use, then verify exported files in the target software.

Start with a representative sample to assess project fit.

Agree on expert roles → Define annotation guidelines → Review the pilot → Agree on delivery at scale.

BEHAVIOR DATA / CONCEPT

Turn video into data for behavioral research.

Behavior data requires clear action definitions, temporal intervals and individual animal identities. Use a shared annotation specification to plan collection, labeling and acceptance.

BEFORE WE START

Questions before we begin.

Can I license the platform or commission annotation separately?

Yes. Platform deployment, expert annotation and data procurement are scoped and priced separately, and can also be combined. If you have a team, start with a platform demo. If you have data, request pilot annotation. If you need data, first confirm available datasets and samples.

How do annotated data, prepared datasets and source images differ?

Annotated data includes labels linked to the source images; confirm the target structures and review status. A prepared dataset also needs a defined release, dictionary, dataset splits and intended uses. Source images generally do not include task-specific labels. We match data to your use case, then confirm availability, quantities and usage rights in the data list.

What do the public CT samples demonstrate?

The page shows anatomical-group masks, slice overlays and 3D surfaces from two actual animal CT volumes, allowing file organization and spatial correspondence to be assessed. Eight group files do not represent eight individually labeled bones. Individual bone IDs, lesions or fragments require separate pilot work to agree on the annotation rules and assess results.

How is expert annotation quality assessed?

First agree on the species, target structures, label definitions and acceptance criteria, then run pilot annotation. Review the results against the source images and record discrepancies, corrections and approved versions. Relevant veterinary expertise, review roles and task assignments can be discussed before the project starts.

Can you provide animal behavior or pet video data?

You can submit collection, procurement or annotation requirements. First confirm the species, settings, action definitions, video duration and usage rights. The behavior illustration on this page is AI-generated. It does not represent recorded video, available inventory or measured model performance.
